Inspired by Dora Maar - Poet" pays tribute to the romantic but heart-rending story of Dora Maarone of Picasso's many muses and lovers. Widely recognized as his most famous muse, Dora and Picasso enjoyed a turbulent relationship colored by art, passion, tumult and tension. Picasso eventually left Dora for the artist Françoise Gilot, and it is sadly said that Dora later died "of a broken heart and boredom".

About Lauren Dickinson Clarke
Lauren was born in a small English town where she enjoyed drawing from an early age. Even as a child, her sketches revealed a range of imaginative, dreamlike scenarios. Seduced by the obscure and the beautiful, Lauren studied fashion design where she trained in the discipline of hand-crafting. She was soon recognized for her creative talents and accepted apprenticeships with renowned fashion houses; Mary Katrantzou and Hussein Chalayan. Before long, a revered position at Alexander McQueen had beckoned. Here, Lauren flourished and practiced the art of telling stories through objects and garments. Lauren was inspired by the transformative qualities of beautiful clothes. She would watch designers mix and match different garments to create a look so sublime it could only be compared to art. Lauren wondered if this same interactive, artistic experience could be applied to objects in the home. After all, shouldn't art and dreams be part of everyday life?
And so, with a pen in hand and a dream in her heart, she continued her quest to create beautiful objects that would elevate any room into a whimsical, artistic experience. After months of drawing, drafting, deliberating and dreaming (and countless cups of tea), her first creation was finally born and she named it; La Création de Madame.

These items are specially prepared and packaged for each customer. We recommend that you come and try them on in store.
Products on sale, outlet or liquidation cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded. The same applies to limited-edition products, gift packaging and orders placed with gift cards.
